Question

Are these just regular version of the films with remastered picture and sound, or are these going to be the remastered special editions with the new digital effects and added scenes put back in?

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Yep, special editions. According to LucasFilm, the regular versions will never be released again.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think widescreen and full screen.
I don't know why he doesn't release the original and the new versions. Isn't that the whole advantage of DVDs?!?!?

I think the silver package contains the widescreen DVDs and the gold contains the fullscreen.

A friend of mine has the originals on bootleg DVDs copied from laser disc. I wouldn't mind getting a set of those.
